Daisy, Shasta ‘Alaska’ (Chrysanthemum maximum)
A mid-season blooming perennial, Fleabane or Aspen Daisy does best in full to partial sun, tolerates dry to moist soils, but prefers well-drained soil that is not too rich. It grows from Alberta and British Columbia, south to Montana, New Mexico, and Arizona in wooded areas, at 5800-11,000 feet elevation. A showy, vigorous plant with violet flowers that attracts butterflies, it will form colonies that should be divided when they begin to overlap.
