AVSeeds Premium Shade Turfgrass Mix 

Seed mix shall be AVSeeds Premium Shade Turfgrass Mix as supplied by Arkansas Valley Seed, 
Inc.

This exact mix shall be used unless the landscape architect approves a substitution in writing. 

Species Composition, The mix consists of: 
• Chewings Fescue, Fairmont (Festuca rubra var. commutata) 20% 
• Perennial Ryegrass, Showtime (Lolium perenne) 20% 
• Creeping Red Fescue, Oracle (Festuca rubra) 20% 
• Kentucky Bluegrass, SPF 30 (Poa pratensis) 20% 
• Hard Fescue, Chariot (Festuca trachyphylla) 20%  
(Percentages are by weight) 

Application Rates 
• New Seeding 
o Seed @ 4-5 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft. 
• Overseeding 
o Overseed @ 2 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft.

• Turf areas under partial or heavy shade
